Joanne o' Dwyer is an artist and photographer whose work explores the concept of Nostalgia, through the exploration of old abandoned buildings - derelict farms and farm houses in rural Ireland, abandoned hospitals and psychiatric institutions. She is interested in how the past shapes the present and personal stories accompanying the sites. She works primarily with digital photography but she also works with video, installation, drawing and painting. She has grown up in Co. Tipperary, studied Sculpture and Combined Media at Limerick School of Art and Design and is currently working as an artist and photographer in Cork city. She is also working towards becoming an Art Therapist.
